Shipping & DG handling
Last updated · 15 May 2026
Most products we sell are classified as dangerous goods. This page summarises how we package, ship, document and clear our chemical orders worldwide — and where the limits lie.
Lead times by region
From order confirmation to the moment goods leave the warehouse:
- EU / US warehouses, stocked SKUs — 24h dispatch on weekday orders before 14:00 local time
- Singapore warehouse, SEA stock — 24–48h dispatch
- Custom blends / pharma grades — 7–14 days (QC + paperwork)
- ISOTANK / bulk orders ≥ 5 t — 10–21 days depending on freight booking
- Pharmacopoeia-grade + market-specific labelling — add 3–5 days for double-check by QA
Transit time after dispatch depends on the carrier and route; we provide an end-to-end ETA on the order confirmation.
Dangerous-goods handling
Roughly 70% of our catalogue is DG. Examples in this site's 1,2-propanediamine range: UN 2258, Class 8 (corrosive liquid). We ship DG under the relevant regulations:
- IATA DGR for air freight (with appropriately licensed forwarders)
- IMDG Code for sea freight
- ADR for European road transport
- 49 CFR HMR for US road and rail
DG handling fees (typically USD 80–250 per shipment depending on mode, class and packing group) are itemised on the Proforma Invoice. We never bury them in the unit price.
Packaging standards
- 180 kg drums: UN-certified steel, polyethylene-lined, nitrogen-blanketed for moisture-sensitive grades
- 50 kg drums: HDPE, UN 1H1 rating
- IBC totes: composite, ~1000 kg net, UN 31HA1 rating, palletised
- Bottles (≤ 5 L): amber Schott or HDPE, tamper-evident seals, in foam-lined carton
- ISOTANK: 20–22 t food / chemical-grade, marine-classed, GPS-tracked
Customs and export documentation
Every shipment includes the documentation required to clear customs in the destination country:
- Commercial invoice + packing list
- Country of origin certificate
- Dangerous Goods Declaration (DGD)
- SDS in the local language where required
- REACH downstream-user statement (for EU consignees)
- Chamber of commerce / consular legalisation for some Middle East and CIS destinations (additional fee)
Country restrictions
We can ship to most major markets, but the following always require a case-by-case review:
- Russia, Belarus, Iran, Syria, North Korea — generally not supplied (sanctions)
- India, Brazil, Indonesia — DG air freight needs local import licence; sea freight preferred for ≥ 5 t orders
- South Korea — requires K-REACH pre-registration for SVHC-listed substances
- Australia — AICIS notification required for some grades
- China mainland — domestic licence required to receive Class 8 liquid; consignee must hold an MEE permit
If your destination is on this list, contact sales before placing the order so we can confirm legality and any extra paperwork.
Insurance & tracking
All shipments are tracked end-to-end. Cargo insurance is included for orders above USD 5,000 (Institute Cargo Clauses A, warehouse-to-warehouse). For smaller orders insurance is optional and quoted at 0.6% of CIF value.
